Fall is here! Almost? Kind of? With a new season right around the corner, it may be difficult to be excited for boots and scarves when the temperature is reaching over 90 degrees in California. Lucky for you, we’ve gathered our best tips for balancing your wardrobe during a time where your pumpkin spice latte is being enjoyed by the pool.

  1. Start With Shoes

As of now, you don’t need to leave the house with your favorite cashmere sweater yet. Instead, opt for a closed toe shoe instead. A boot, loafer, woven flat or closed-toe heel will work just fine for now.

   2.  Add Texture, Not Layers

Since we find ourselves not having to layer just yet, we find that adding Fall inspired textures does the trick in encouraging seasonal influence to any outfit. When you find yourself craving that soft, knit sweater feeling - reach for woven leather, suede, denim and croc-embossed finishes instead.

3. Go A Little Deeper With Color

The good news is - lightweight silhouettes are here to stay! With that being said, we are able to shift to a darker color palette while still wearing our favorite clothing. Incorporate colors such as cream, chocolate, caramel, black, dark denim, burgundy and forest green to instantly make any outfit feel effortlessly autumnal.

4. Wear Boots With Bare Legs

This September, we are swearing by this one. Wearing cowboy boots with a lightweight skirt or dress instantly keeps all of the Fall feels without the heavy layers.

5. Treat Metallics Like a Neutral

We are big fans of metallics all year round. Pair gold, bronze or silver with your favorite Fall colors for an easy transition into the new season. Our personal favorite colors that pair best with metallics are denim, black, chocolate and cream.

6. Keep Your Summer Dresses in Rotation

There is absolutely no need to put your summer dresses on hold just yet! Change the shoes, accessorize with a belt, add a structured bag or even integrate your favorite scarf for an instant September revamp.
