As a mom of three, our founder Christina knows firsthand how the holidays can be a whirlwind of chaos and joy. Between all the holiday parties, never-ending to-do lists, and the constant juggling of responsibilities, it can feel like a lot! Amidst the hustle and bustle, finding joy becomes both a challenge and a necessity.

Here are Christina’s top tips for staying present, finding joy, and enjoying the holiday season:

1 - The Little Things

Watching the sparkle in my children's eyes as they decorate the Christmas tree or the infectious laughter that fills the house while baking cookies together. In those moments, the chaos fades into the background, and pure joy takes center stage.

Just the other day, I was solo-parenting all three kids by myself (a 5-year-old boy, a 2-year-old daughter, and a 13-week-old infant). Instead of just turning the TV on, I decided the day would look a little different. We started by making a Christmas fort with cozy blankets, pillows, lights, and decor. Next, we decorated break-and-bake sugar cookies. And lastly, we made DIY Christmas ornaments. Yes, it was messy. Yes, there were times when I thought this is too much to take on, but the joy on their faces and giggles made it all worth it!

2 - Gifting

Sure, there's the frenzy of shopping for gifts, navigating crowded malls, finding the best online deals, and searching for that perfect present. But it's the joy of seeing loved ones' faces light up as they unwrap their gifts that makes the hours of searching entirely worth it. If you’ve got littles, don’t forget to take videos of them unwrapping a few of the gifts. You’ll someday look back and it will bring immense joy to see how much they’ve grown!

3 - Holiday Parties

Planning holiday gatherings, cooking elaborate meals, and ensuring everything is picture-perfect, can be a lot to take on. Yet, it's the shared laughter around the dinner table, the warmth of family togetherness, and the joy of creating lasting memories that make all the effort worthwhile.

4 - Self-Care

Amidst the chaos, it’s important to prioritize self-care and take a moment to breathe. Whether it's through a few minutes with a cup of coffee, a walk outside, or a luxurious spa massage.  Finding moments to recharge allows me to better embrace the joyful moments with family and be the best version of myself.

5 - Embrace Imperfection

Last but not least, finding joy during the holidays is also about embracing imperfection and letting go of unrealistic expectations. The turkey might not be perfectly cooked, and the decorations might not rival those in magazines or your neighbors, but the joy comes from the love and warmth shared in these imperfect moments.

To wrap it up, as a mom the holidays can be overwhelming, but they're also a time of immense joy and love. It's about finding gratitude amid chaos, appreciating the laughter, the love, and the shared experiences that make this time of year so special. Despite the craziness, there's an abundance of joy waiting to be found, and it's often found in the simplest, most heartwarming moments shared with those I love most.

Happy Holidays to you and your family! Cheers to a joyful season and a new year!

XO,

Christina
