Summer 2026, that’s a wrap! And what a summer it was.

This summer brought a lot of change for Joyasol. We moved, launched a special collaboration, traveled, gave back, celebrated some exciting press and somehow managed to juggle it all during summer break.

As we head into fall, we wanted to take a moment to look back at some of the moments that made this summer one to remember.

We Moved to Southern California

One of the biggest changes this summer was officially moving Joyasol from Northern to Southern California.

And when we say moving, we mean moving. Many, many hours were spent boxing up shoes, supplies and everything we’ve accumulated while building Joyasol over the past five years.

It was a huge undertaking, but the end result was worth it.

We’re now settled into our new warehouse space in Torrance, with our office in Beverly Hills.

We’re excited to continue growing our California-based women’s footwear brand here in Southern California while staying true to what has always made Joyasol special: thoughtful design, small-batch production and beautiful craftsmanship in Portugal.

We Launched a Dream Collaboration

Another highlight was launching our exclusive limited-edition Carmen Espadrille in collaboration with nonprofit Mercado Global. Read more about it here.

The Carmen brought together so much of what we love: beautiful craftsmanship, thoughtful design and a meaningful story behind the people who make what we wear.

It was a dream collaboration brought to life and one we were incredibly proud to share with you.

We Were Featured

There are certain moments as a small brand that never stop feeling surreal, and seeing Joyasol in print is one of them.

This summer, Joyasol was featured in some incredible publications, including Vanity Fair and World of Interiors.

Almost five years into building this brand, seeing our shoes on those pages still gives us that pinch-me feeling.

We Gave Back

Giving back has been part of Joyasol from the beginning.

This summer, our team spent time volunteering with Soles4Souls in San Bernardino and donated more than 20 pairs of Joyasol shoes. Learn more about how we give back here.

We believe beautiful, well-made shoes should have a life beyond a single season. We’re proud to support an organization helping give shoes a second life and get them into the hands of people who can use them.

We Traveled, A Lot

Our Joyasols covered quite a few miles this summer.

From the South to an even hotter Rome, Italy, we put our shoes to the ultimate test. Long travel days, cobblestone streets, sightseeing, dinners and plenty of walking.

Our Ava Sandals and Elise Woven Flats saved us.

The Ava became an easy summer go-to when we wanted a comfortable sandal that could take us from daytime exploring to dinner. And the Elise flats were perfect for days when we wanted something polished without sacrificing comfort.

Both earned their spots in our suitcases over and over again.

Travel has always been a big source of inspiration for Joyasol. The places we visit, the people we meet and the effortless way women around the world dress continue to influence how we think about designing comfortable women’s shoes that are versatile enough for real life.

We Juggled

Summer as a founder and mom is always a bit of a juggling act.

With three kids home from school, running Joyasol sometimes meant bringing along a few little helpers to the warehouse. And yes, there may have been a few frozen yogurt bribes involved.

Building a small business rarely looks perfectly polished behind the scenes. Sometimes it’s designing shoes and dreaming about the next collection. Sometimes it’s answering emails with kids nearby, packing boxes or doing whatever needs to get done that day.

That’s all part of the journey.

We Connected

We wrapped up summer by attending one of the largest conferences for women in business.

After a season filled with so much doing, it felt good to connect with other women who are building, creating and pursuing ideas they believe in.

One of our biggest takeaways was also one of the simplest: in a world increasingly shaped by technology and AI, human connection matters more than ever.

The conversations we have. The relationships we build. The things we make with our hands. The experiences that happen beyond a screen.

Those things still matter.

It was a good reminder of why we believe so strongly in thoughtfully designed, handcrafted shoes and the people behind them.

Hello, Fall

Looking back, this summer was busy, sometimes chaotic and filled with change. But it was also a season of growth, new experiences and some really special moments.

We’re heading into fall grateful for how far Joyasol has come and excited about where we’re going next.

There are some fun things happening behind the scenes, and we can’t wait to share more soon.

Thank you, as always, for being part of our journey.
